Comparison ceiling - floor
radiant panels
The HLK laboratory of the
University of Stuttgart has realized a report
comparing the energy output required to heat the
same industrial hall with floor radiant panels
and with ceiling radiant panels. The results of
the calculation show that the output required by
floor systems is 20-25% higher. In another
report HLK analyses thermal flows towards the
ground and through the ground to the environment.
Also in this case calculations show that with
floor system the dispersion flow to the ground is
about 50% higher. It is therefore possible to
state that the heating system with ceiling
radiant panels allows a considerable energy and
economic saving, in comparison to the floor heating
system.
